Hyundai Kona Iron Man Edition Unveiled And We’re Here For It

If you’re like me, a Marvel movie, comic book-living, Disney freak geek,  stuck at home during ComicCon and living vicariously through a wealth of tweets and hashtags – welcome!

Misery does love company.

Right now, this miserable girl is drooling over the newly unveiled Hyundai Kona Iron Man edition that I’m hoping will mysteriously show up in my driveway as if I’ve won the grand prize in a contest I just don’t remember entering.

Hyundai Kona Iron Man Edition unveiled at ComicCon

It’s like Marvel and Hyundai have become our favorite “it” couple and we’re all drooling over their babies.

This year, already, we’ve seen the Ant-Man and the Wasp Hyundai Veloster and we put that on our Christmas lists. Now, we’re here for the Kona Iron Man Edition and we’re not leaving until we get it.

Check out these hot wheels! The Hyundai Veloster from Ant-Man and the Wasp

If you’re not familiar, the Kona is a crossover vehicle. This version is slightly adjusted, however, with the front redesigned to more closely resemble Iron Man’s face mask, but without the tacky gold. When the daytime running lights are on, and you see the matte-gray-and-Iron-Man-Red paint scheme, it literally screams “get the hell out of the passing lane!” for you.

Then, Hyundai goes from subtle to all-the-Iron-Man-stuff by adding badging on the fenders and, in a step maybe too far, a Stark Industries decal on the lower fascia and rear doors.

Then, feast your eyes on the Iron Man center caps on wheels, the Iron Man-engraved headlamp, and Iron Man engraving on the D-pillars. Maybe it’s all too much, though the color scheme is far better than it would have been with say, a Superman car. Blech.

The interior also features Tony Stark’s signature on the instrument panel (another step too far, IMHO), and the shift knob, center console, and seats are all Tony Stark-ized.

The vehicle will go into a limited production run in December of 2018, with the first cars being delivered early in 2019.
